The Buff N Blu boys will have chance to sweep the State Basketball Championships
for boys and girls as they meet Kamehameha-Hawaii for the Division I title.  The Punahou girls Team was able to capture the crown on Friday night with a victory over Iolani (see seperate article).

Punahou upended Konawaena 61-35 at the Blaisdell Arena Friday night.  Manti Te’o had a big game with 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Puns.  Robert Toma added 12 points and 3 assists while Kameron Steinhoff contributed 11 points and a team high 8 rebounds.

For Konawaena, Kekoa Carvalho and Darryl Milana each tossed in 10 points.

In the other semi final, Moanalua could not continue their remarkable road in the tournament as they were put down by Kamehameha-Hawaii 51-45.  The Warriors from the Big Island will be playing for their first D-I State Championship.

The Warriors were led by Kealoha Kramer with 14 points and 6 rebounds while Colton Collins added 12 points and 5 rebounds.  The team shot 50% from the field to hold off the Menehune.

Stevie Austin had another great game with 18 points and 8 assists.  Ryan Hua added 11 points and hauled in rebounds

THE D-I CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAY AT 8:00P AT THE BLAISDELL ARENA.  THE RADIO BROADCAST WILL BE CARRIED HERE ON DIGITAL SPORTS HAWAII.

Moanalua and Konawaena will play for 3rd Place on Saturday at 4:00p at the Blaisdell.
